The events of the last two days in Maharashtra politics had been widely anticipated. Political analysts believe it is a miracle that the Shiv Sena- Congress- NCP alliance lasted three years despite the ideological differences and aspirations. So what will the next few days mean for one of the most coveted states, that is also seen as a battle of prestige for political rivals in India. Join me in the discussion thread here in the next 15 minutes.
There are multiple factors for the rebellion in the ranks in Shiv Sena. The MVA alliance to begin with was one of compulsion, compromises for all the three stake holders. Three years of the Uddhav Thackeray government also saw the unravelling of the Shiv Sena that has attempted an image make over while also trying to compete with the Hindutva bandwagon from the right wing eco system.
Fadnavis’s power lust has become so obviously vulgar now, that people in Maharashtra realise it. My guess is, even if BJP manages to grab the power now, Shivsena will come with majority in next elections which are two years away.
What’s your opinion on MVA’s performance these three years. I don’t think anyone expected a coalition with such diverse ideology ( not to mention the fact that they be at each other’s throats until MVA ) to last this long. Especially in the face of a strong BJP in center and state.
The unfolding of events reveal that UT could not manage and carry his team well which gave an opportunity to BJP to exploit the situation by hook and crook. He may not have been proactive and failure of his intelligence to nip in the bud. It is too late now. The numbers are strongly in favor of BJP; only savior could be the anti defection law. Let us wait and watch...
Back door entry for BJP -- Either they rule by hate and vote -- like UP or if they loose power in vote -- They buy MLAs and break the political structure -- They need to be in power by hook or by crook.
Now Muslims in Maharashtra need to worry -- like UP -- Bulldozers , UAPA, NSA etc are coming for Muslims-- Unfortunately
What lies ahead for Maharashtra!

Fresh elections should be conducted.
I Still hope that MVA somehow remains with some last minute turnarounds.
Where do you see the survival of regional parties in states?
