There is no right or left or center! When it comes to RSS and Hindutva it is only the WRONG WING. They are truly communal and racist. That's what they are and must be called so.

Well, from an Indian perspective, what Muslims have being doing for the past 50 years in India, especially in their majority areas, they are facing the same. The advantage of the appparently persecuted Muslims nowadays is social media in these modern times where every event is widely examined. The Hindus never had the Internet to expose the atrocities of the Muslims. So guys, what you sow you shall reap.

Its Hindu - Wrong Wing, neither right nor left in fact it is a euphemism calling them right wing who are nothing but racist communal people, hard core killers who are currently having Indian, national and state patronage! They are getting away with the worst kind of pogroms since 2014.

Absolutely a great exposé on Modi and the BJP and their attack on Islam in India. But instead of "either or" I would do "both and" - that is I think an intersectional analysis wherein gender and Islamophobia are seen to work together to disempower Islamic women and insult Islamic men (you can't stop us from attacking "your" women) is a great way in. Just a thought in response to some of the criticism leveled at your work.

It is women like you who are going to play a very impossible role in India’s future. Just wait and see

I am grateful now that my parents and grandparents chose to come to Pakistan . At the same time my heart bleeds at the fate of fellow Muslims who chose to stay behind .

It is not a question of who "chose" to stay behind. No, that's not right. Instead of commiserating you seem to be reveling in the misery of your co-religionists. Undivided India was a huge place. Humongous.

All were in different circumstances from North to South and East and West. By the time people could gather themselves with respect to parents old ages and arranging finances etc. Pakistan legally shut the doors on them. In 1952 Pakistan after the assassination of Prime Minister Liaquath Ali Khan stopped all legal migration to Pakistan. How could they do it? Who were these land lords who had no say in the creation of Pakistan to stop Muslims from coming to Pakistan?

This is the real reason which is effectively swept under the carpet by these regional minded land lords of Pakistan. Two countries were made based on two nation theory first Pakistan and second Israel. If Israel did this the Rabbis would have gone up in arms against such a decision. Every Jew would have fought for it. But in Pakistan not one person stood up against this restriction, particularly the self assumed ulema like Moududi who did not utter a word. Made no protests. Till today Israel encourages immigration offering land and jobs etc. India does the same always welcomes Hindus to India. So are Jews and Hindus are better than Muslims?

But Pakistan despite such large areas uninhabited does not allow any immigration. They gave that luxury only to Afghanis but not Muslims of India for whom Pakistan was made - a homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. But that purpose was soon lost while Afghan did not have a problem nor needed a country. Those who needed a country were stopped from coming to Pakistan. Display of small hearts.

To make matters worse these Punjabi Saudagraan, who took control of media in Pakistan, masquerading as Urdu speaking, created a hatred among the Pakistani Urdu speaking migrants against the Muslims of India. Pick up the old Jung Urdu news papers it is full of such vitriol. This hatred in these Punjabi Saudagraan has a different story altogether.

For a long long time Punjabi Saudagran were not allowed to live within the precincts of Delhi. They had to leave the four walls of Delhi at sunset. They resented it. When Pakistan was made they moved to Pakistan as Punjabis. But since they spoke Urdu well had an advantage to be one up among the other Punjabi speaking Pakistanis who were neither conversant with Urdu of English. Plus they endeared themselves to the Muhajirs of Pakistan. But these Muhajirs never understood the plot until the rampant discrimination after 1973 racist laws Bhutto gave them in shape of The Quota System! The disaster continues.

The field in Urdu journalism in 1947 was vacant. Punjabi Saudagran immediately and easily occupied that space and played havoc with the minds of the people of Pakistan. They made the readers believe what they wanted to. The concepts of Allama Iqbal and Quaed e Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah were evaporated. In short the higher values which they espoused and created a country simply vanished. They twisted their minds as they wanted. They created a monster of the poor deprived Muslims of India. While in India Muslims were unaware of what's cooking in Pakistan? And that mindset still continues.

We must learn to commiserate without hurting the feelings of Muslims of India who are our brethren and comrades in the same struggle just because a line has been drawn, in which only a few had a role to play, does not mean we are any different people now!

There is no rush among Indian muslims to immigrate to Pakistan. All Indian muslims want to stay put in India and fight for their rights. No muslim for India likes to identify as Pakistani even abroad. This is not 1950s S. Shah and you are peddling the same canards as the RW.

Though in solidarity with the troubles of Indian Muslim women caused by targeted hate by the RW, I feel you are being pretentious in demanding that potential allies speak only on your own terms. Different people will fight with different agendas and methods. As the weaker party, it would be prudent to accept any help you can get instead of impatiently denouncing and pissing off those who could be sympathetic and help. The RW claps its hands in glee whenever Muslims and their potential allies fight often viciously on SM. Your differences are minor when compared to the enormity of your challenge with the RW. Also, politics takes strange turns. What seemed like enemies could be today's allies. Shiv Sena in Maharashtra is the best case in point. Its always best for minorities everywhere in the world to keep all doors open.

India is as much country of Muslims as the majority faith, we love our country and would not go anywhere else..dont people see how other majoritarian faiths in other countries where Indians crave to go treat the minorities? Constitutional rights are equal for all faiths...No government can take away those rights...Government is supposed to serve citizens and not dictate on personal matters like religion..they have no right..let all secular citizens unite and call off the charade of the people who resort to faith related issues..lets do it the Gandhian way....Satyagraha....if millions march toward Delhi ...will they kill all/ jail all...?

I, being an Indian Hindu, acknowledge and apologise for the rampant majoritarianism in present India. Many a times, we have brushed things under the majoritarian carpet as their issues (your issues). Muslim Indians along with several minority groups feel threatened on a daily basis in a country that promised religious security. Post Partition India was never meant solely for Hindus. It was for everyone that subscribed to the Idea of India. The one job that a minority segment has in any democracy is to make sure that numbers aren’t weaponised. And we as Indian Hindus have failed time and again. Thanks to our own biases and propaganda journalism by our traditional media. Let dissent never die. Let voices thrive.
