The centre has rejected the findings of Reporters Without Borders that has placed India at 150 among 180 nations in the World.

India has rejected the findings of the Reporters Without Borders that has placed India at the 150th position and called the World’s Largest Democracy, one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists. Ironically, the Information and Broadcasting Minister in India has rejected the report in the Indian Parliament on a day when the Supreme Court of India had to intervene to order the release of Muhammad Zubair, the co-founder of Alt News. In this podcast, I call out the hypocrisy of the Indian government as some of the best journalists in the country have been incarcerated, detained, harassed and facing multiple cases.
